Biography
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon | Head of Orthopaedic Department
Dr. Lo’ay Mohammed Alsayes is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Head of the Orthopaedic Department at Mediclinic Al Jowhara Hospital in Al Ain, UAE. He previously served for more than 14 years as a Consultant in Orthopaedics at Tawam Hospital, where his practice covered trauma, sports injuries, arthroscopic surgery, joint replacement, and general orthopaedics.
He holds fellowships and specialist qualifications including FACS (Fellow of the American College of Surgeons), Fellowship of the Iraqi Commission for Medical Specialization in Orthopaedics and Trauma, and the Arab Board of Medical Specialties in Orthopaedic Surgery. He also holds a FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine and has completed AO training in upper- and lower-limb trauma.
Dr. Alsayes has extensive expertise in sports medicine, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, joint replacement, complex trauma and fracture fixation, ligament reconstruction, hand surgery, and the management of malunion and nonunion. His practice also encompasses tendon reconstruction, foot and ankle procedures, paediatric orthopaedics, and the management of bone and soft-tissue tumors.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr. Alsayes is actively involved in orthopaedic education, delivering scientific, clinical, and practical training to orthopaedic residents and medical students. He has also participated in numerous advanced and cadaveric orthopaedic courses as both a trainee and instructor.
