Biography
Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon | Foot & Ankle Specialist
Dr. Moez Ballal is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Foot and Ankle Surgery at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He is fellowship-trained in Foot & Ankle Surgery and holds specialist registration in Trauma & Orthopaedics with the UK General Medical Council.
He completed extensive orthopaedic training and specialist fellowships in the United Kingdom, with advanced experience in foot and ankle surgery, sports injuries, lower-limb reconstruction, knee surgery, and trauma. His qualifications include MBBS, MRCSEd, FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics), and Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Trauma & Orthopaedics.
His clinical interests include elective and traumatic foot and ankle conditions, sports-related injuries, heel pain, foot and ankle arthroscopy, reconstructive procedures, and lower-limb circular frame fixation. He has undertaken advanced training in foot and ankle arthroscopy, ankle replacement, sports foot and ankle surgery, and complex trauma reconstruction.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr. Ballal has a strong academic and research background, with numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and presentations at international orthopaedic meetings. He is also an ATLS instructor and has extensive experience in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
