Biography

Professor of Orthopaedics | Sports Medicine & Arthroscopy Specialist

Prof. Mohamed Hassan Sobhy Ahmed is a Professor of Orthopaedics at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, with extensive clinical and academic expertise in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and reconstructive orthopaedic surgery. He has held progressive academic appointments at Ain Shams University and has served as Professor of Orthopaedics since 2018.

He holds an MD and Master’s degree in Orthopaedics from Ain Shams University and completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Rush Medical College in Chicago, USA. His clinical expertise includes knee and shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty, management of ligament and meniscal injuries, shoulder instability and rotator cuff disorders, as well as arthroscopic procedures involving the ankle, elbow, and wrist.

Prof. Sobhy is actively involved in national and international orthopaedic organizations. He is a founding member of several professional societies and is affiliated with ISAKOS, ESSKA, SICOT, and AANA. He also serves on the Arab Orthopedic Board Scientific Committee and has contributed extensively to orthopaedic education, training courses, cadaveric workshops, and international scientific meetings.

Alongside his clinical and teaching activities, Prof. Sobhy has an extensive research portfolio in knee and shoulder surgery, ligament reconstruction, cartilage restoration, rotator cuff repair, and sports-related orthopaedic conditions. He serves as an editorial board member and reviewer for several international orthopaedic and sports medicine journals.
