Biography

Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery

Professor Mohammad Qasem Mohammad Hamdan is a distinguished orthopaedic surgeon and academic leader at the University of Jordan. He specializes in knee surgery, arthroscopy, sports medicine, and arthroplasty. He has performed over a thousand complex orthopaedic surgeries and contributed extensively to research in ligament reconstruction, meniscal repair, trauma, and regenerative medicine. He served as Head of the Department of Orthopaedics (2018–2023) and currently serves on multiple national and institutional scientific committees.

Professor Hamdan completed a Fellowship in Knee Surgery & Sports Medicine at the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute, University of Bologna, Italy (2011–2013), holds the Jordanian Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (Jordan Medical Council, 2010), Higher Specialization in Orthopaedics (University of Jordan, 2009), and his MBBS in Medicine & General Surgery (University of Jordan, 2002).

He is Chair of the Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Group of the Jordan Orthopaedic Association (JOA), a member of the Arthroscopy and Sports Committee of the Jordan Medical Council, and a Scientific Committee Member of the Arab Board of Orthopaedics and Trauma. He is also faculty and organizer of the AO Trauma Jordan Chapter, a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), and a member of the Jordan Orthopaedic Association (JOA).
