Biography
Professor of Reconstructive Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Surgery | Senior Consultant
Prof. Nasef Abdellatif is a Professor of Reconstructive Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgery and Senior Consultant in Foot and Ankle Surgery and Arthroscopy in Cairo, Egypt. With more than two decades of specialist clinical, academic, and research experience, his practice focuses on complex foot and ankle reconstruction, sports injuries, arthroscopy, minimally invasive surgery, ankle joint replacement, and ligament and tendon reconstruction.
He completed his M.B.B.Ch., M.Sc., and M.D. in Orthopaedics and Trauma at Cairo University, followed by international fellowship training in Germany and at Amsterdam Medical Center in the Netherlands under Professor C. Niek van Dijk.
Prof. Abdellatif currently serves as Chair of the ISAKOS Leg, Foot and Ankle Committee (2025–2027) and is a member of the EFAS Scientific Committee, AOFAS Education Committee, and SICOT Foot and Ankle Committee. He is also an accredited ISAKOS and ESSKA teacher and educator and a founding member of the Egyptian Foot and Ankle Society (EGYFAS).
An internationally active researcher and educator, Prof. Abdellatif has contributed to more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and several book chapters, with research spanning ankle instability, Achilles tendon injuries, arthroscopy, minimally invasive surgery, deformity correction, and return-to-sport outcomes. He also serves as a reviewer for several leading international orthopaedic and sports medicine journals.
