Biography
Consultant Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeon | Head of Orthopaedics
Dr. Sultan Matar Alkaabi is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon and Head of the Orthopaedic Department at Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE, a position he has held since 2011.
He is German Board-certified (Facharzt) in Orthopaedics and Traumatology and completed his specialist orthopaedic and trauma training in Germany. He also undertook fellowship-level training in Germany focused on minimally invasive total knee and hip joint replacement and sports medicine.
Dr. Alkaabi has extensive expertise in knee surgery, joint replacement, sports injuries, and traumatology. His areas of clinical specialization include minimally invasive knee surgery, total knee and hip replacement, knee ligament reconstruction, meniscus repair, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, and posterior cruciate and collateral ligament reconstruction.
In addition to his clinical practice and departmental leadership, Dr. Alkaabi has participated in numerous orthopaedic conferences and professional meetings in the UAE and internationally. His professional interests also include quality improvement, multidisciplinary teamwork, and the advancement of orthopaedic and trauma care.
